This maths puzzlehas been baffling people.
How skilled are you at mathematics? Some of us will happily confess it's not our strongest subject, whilst others amongst us savour the prospect of tackling a complex equation or can calculate percentages mentally within seconds.
Regardless of your ability level regarding mathematics, maintaining your brain's activity through solving puzzles and brain teasers is essential for cognitive health, and mathematical questions are an excellent method to accomplish that. This recent mathematics-related puzzle has been leaving people scratching their heads, however, as some claim it's so challenging that they "don't even understand the question", never mind what the solution should be.

So if you're seeking a challenge, attempt this bewildering puzzle. In a video posted on TikTokby Talk to the Nation, they presented a seemingly straightforward question and recorded one woman's effort to solve it.
Whilst she did arrive at the correct solution by the end of the video, the process still left people in the comments baffled - and some couldn't even grasp what was being asked.
The question was this: "What is the 100th digit between 1 and 100?" It shouldn't be that difficult to determine, but you do need to perform some mathematics to reach the correct solution. We can reveal now that the answer is not simply "100", as the question is requesting specific digits, not whole numbers.
For instance, the 10th digit is 1, and the 11th digit is 0, as these comprise the two digits of the number 10. The woman in the video solved the problem easily but revealed at the end of the clip that she had a maths degree - so she's no stranger to a sum.
If you're finding it hard to work out the answer, don't scroll any further as we're about to spill the beans.

Answer: The 100th digit is 5. Specifically, the first 5 of the number 55.
You can figure this out easily by using a bit of maths and a whole lot of logic. First, you should subtract 9 from 100 to represent the numbers 1-9, which are single digits.
This leaves you with 91, which you then divide by two. You do this because the remaining numbers 10-99 are all double digits, so each number is two digits.
Once you've halved 91 and got to 45.5, you then add the nine single digits back on, getting you to 54.5. In the context of the puzzle, the extra 0.5 denotes the first half of the next number, meaning the 100th digit is 5.
